Frontispiece, 3 plates of strata and a map of England - all geologically handcoloured, plus two black and white plates. Rebacked preserving much of the original spine, the leather quite worn, a degree of browning throughout with a little more foxing towards the front. An itinerant lecturer on geology who while never admitted to the Geological Society did much to encourage and popularise the new science.
