About Us

Founded 1964, Bow Windows Bookshop is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association (ABA) who, in turn, are affiliated to the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), as well as the Provincial Bookfairs Association (PBFA). The bookshop has been owned in partnership since 2010 by Ric Latham and Jonathan Menezes.

Ric Latham - Ric joined Bow Windows in 1998 and worked as a cataloguer and shop manager for the next 12 years. Particularly keen on early English printing and private press books, he supports Liverpool.

Jonathan Menezes - Jonathan worked for a leading London bookseller from 1996 to 2010, specialising in plate books and travel with a particular interest in maps and atlases. He finds his interests are ever broadening, especially in the fields of natural history and science. Born and bred in the East End of London he is a lifelong supporter of West Ham and has lived in Sussex for over fifteen years.

Bow Windows Bookshop was founded by Dawsons, a large public company that also owned Frank Hammond, Deighton Bell and Dawsons of Pall Mall. From 1984 until 2010 the business was run by Alan and Jennifer Shelley, who moved it from the original bow-windowed premises into the current, more central location, in 1994.
