First edition. 4to. xii, 475, (1) pp. Bespoke designer binding of tan full morocco skilfully inlaid with panels of blue, russet, black and red in an abstract pattern, blind lettered vertically to the spine, top edge gilt, original printed covers bound in to the rear, housed in a tan morocco backed Solander box. Profusely illustrated in black and white throughout plus 30 pp. of colour illustrations to the rear. The slipcase quite worn with losses to the leather, the book itself in excellent condition. The binding is unsigned, remarkably so given the attractiveness of the binding and the skill of the binder. Item #48198
