Paul Peter Piech (1920-1996) was an American born artist who settled in the UK after the Second World War. He taught at several art colleges in the succeeding decades including Leicester where he worked alongside Edward Bawden. The linocut style demonstrated in this work shows Bawden's influence and his name is even mentioned in the British Library description for this book, although Bawden's name doesn't appear in the printed work itself.
