Fine contemporary brown half crushed morocco over marbled boards, spines with gilt tooled wide raised bands, gilt lettered direct to two panels and with a shamrock gilt device repeated to the others, marbled endpapers, top edges gilt, the attractive letterpress bookplate of Robert Marceau to the front pastedowns. Colour frontispieces and black and white title vignettes to each volume plus 44 black and white plates, some etched, throughout the set, two of the later volumes with 26 further illustrations in the text. The spines sunned to a slightly lighter tan, a handsome set. Item #45461
