(Guildford): Circle Press Publications, (1978). Limited edition, no. 1 of 250 copies initialled by King, folio, (xii), 57, (3) pp. Vignette to title and 14 full page illustrations. Original blue cloth, darker blue cloth slipcase with very minor wear. Accompanying the book is a card folder containing 18 (of 20) loose prints, each numbered "I A.P." (Artist's Proof) and titled and signed by King, held in separate paper folders with a printed verse or "prose comment" by Roy Fisher, Andrew Crozier, Kevin Power or Keith Please, all in excellent condition, the card folder a little scuffed. The two missing prints are nos. XV and XVIII - The Wife of Bath's Horse and The Manciple. Originally produced for Editions Alecto in 1967, this second edition apparently appeared in 20 separate runs of 250 copies, each with a different single print as well as 50 Artist's Proof copies. This copy would not appear to have been one of the latter, despite being matched with a set of the separate prints. Item #44502
