Folding map of the island orientated with north to the lower left corner, full original colour plus lots of printed detail across the island and illustrations of ships to the sea, facsimiles of Napoleon's signature as First Consul and Emperor to the lower right corner, dissected into 12 sections and mounted on linen, a "descriptive sketch" of the island mounted onto four panels on the verso, folds into a later period style plain drab card slipcase. Linen verso somewhat soiled, the paper a little toned, very good overall. Engraved by R. Kirkwood. The first state of four, with Napoleon's residence having been incorrectly identified at Plantation House in the centre of the island. This was rectified in subsequent states. Item #31300
