Upper margin browned and somewhat perished throughout, with some loss of the text to the title, dedication and final leaves. Evidently scarce, with ESTC listing only one copy of this edition in the UK and three copies in the US. A reference in the ESTC record notes that this is a reprint of the work titled "An Essay on the Nature and Methods of Carrying on a Trade to the South Seas" published in 1712, of which they do not record any copies. A subsequent edition was published in 1763, of which only are handful of copies are noted as well. Item #20129
