The History of a Lump of Coal from the Pit's Mouth to a Bonnet Ribbon.
London: A. Johnston, 1882. Sole edition. 8vo. viii, 88 pp. Publisher's printed boards, illustrated to the upper cover. A handful of black and white illustrations in the text. The upper joint of the fragile covers cracked but subtly repaired, some light wear to the extremities, very good overall. A charming primer for the armchair scientist. Despite evidently being produced for a wider audience the book appears to be quite scarce. OCLC records only 8 copies (4 UK, 2 Australia and one each for US and Europe). Item #41846
