London: (1) Robert Barker 1604, (2) the Deputies of Christoper Barker 1592, (3) Printed by John Windet, for the Assignes of Richard Day 1592. Three works bound in one volume, small folio, (294); (160) pp; (6), 56, (1) ff. First work lacking one leaf (M1) as well as the Psalms at the end in their entirety. Second work complete as the Psalms but lacking the preceding Common Prayer. Third work lacking the final leaf. First two works printed in black letter, third work with music in the text. Front blanks with wear to edges, some early signatures to the blanks and that of Edward Grosse, dated 1604, to the title of the first work. Contemporary calf, rebacked with new endpapers retaining the original backstrip. An interesting collection of early church printing, with a 1604 Common Prayer made up with the Psalms from a 1592 printing plus an extra 1592 Psalms bound at the end for good measure. STC 16327, 16316 & 2480. Griffiths pp. 79 & 83. McKerrow & Ferguson 167, showing the woodcut border to the title of the second work. The third work has Richard Day, not "Daye" as called for by ESTC. None of the works are common, in particular ESTC records only three copies of the second work, one of which (Trinity College Dublin) is lacking its title. Item #40106
