Uniformly bound in contemporary red half crushed morocco over matching cloth boards by Bickers & Son, spines with raised bands, gilt lettered direct to two panels and with the gilt devices of horseshoes, bridles and hunting horns to the other compartments, top edges gilt, the early armorial bookplates of Percy Lyulph Wyndham of Clouds to the front pastedowns. Illustrations by John Leech and Hablot K. Browne ("Phiz") amongst others. A few minor rubs and marks, a very good set overall. A late 19th century collection of Surtees' sporting novels all published by Bradbury, Agnew & Co. except for "Hillingdon Hall", which was issued by Routledge. Item #38876
