Sole edition. 4to. xvi, 316, (2) pp. 25 card leaves including two colour illustrated title pages for the Old and New Testament stories plus a blank dividing leaf between them, the other leaves with four colour plates per page featuring text interspersed with hieroglyphic illustrations. Publisher's sand buckram with bevelled edges, gilt lettered to the spine and upper board which also feature black hieroglyphic illustrations, patterned endpapers, top edge gilt, blue cloth dust jacket based on the same design. Black and white illustrations in the text to the first (historical) part. Trivial wear to the edges of the jacket which, along with the book, is very well preserved. Item #37750
