Item #34631 [Autograph Letters]. Norman MAILER.

[Autograph Letters].

1970-72. A group of five typed letters signed by Mailer, addressed to the journalist Leticia Kent. Folded and preserved in four of the original typed envelopes, each with Mailer's address either typed or on a sticker to the top lefthand corner. Kent interviewed Mailer for Vogue in 1971 and several of the letters touch on this, Mailer reassuring Kent that "I thought you did a nice and tasty job and if people bugger it about afterward there's nothing we can do about it so please don't feel bad". Elsewhere Mailer talks about his "moonshot book" (Of a Fire on the Moon) - "...it's the first thing I've done in years where I haven't felt close to the material..." and Nixon's re-election, presumably referring to Vice President Spiro Agnew when he says "The only trouble is now we have The Clown. Four more years!" The price includes VAT in the UK, please contact us if you are elsewhere. Item #34631
