(vi), 137, (1) pp. Publisher's maroon half morocco over matching cloth sides, spine with raised bands, gilt lettered direct to two panels, the title in gilt to the upper board, all edges gilt, the early armorial bookplates of John Lecky Phelps to the front pastedown, his name crossed out and the name of Francis Hebb Neate added with the date "28.6.25". 35 double page plates, mostly coloured, plus 7 plates in the text One map with neat tissue reinforcement along the centrefold, another two with small splits to the lower edge of the fold, stain to the lower cover, some wear to the extremities of the binding, but it is sound and generally of very good appearance. A monumental world atlas devoted to the natural sciences, comprising sections on geology and geography (10 maps), hydrography (8), meteorology and magentism (8), botany (2), natural history (7) plus ethnology and statistics (6).
