Fourth edition, 8vo, xii, 242, 37, (1) pp. Two leaf "Copy of the Supplication presented by the Senior Scholars of the School of Dumfries" bound in near the end, contemporary armorial bookplate - "Alexr. Hamilton Esqr of Grange, Advocate", plus a brief later inscription above. Contemporary calf, extremities rubbed, recently rebacked with a red label. Chapman was headmaster of Dumfries grammar school and subsequently established a private academy near Banff. First published 1773. Item #29018
