Quarter maroon morocco over matching boards, gilt lettered to the spine, ex-libris Victoria Institute, Worcester Public Library, with their shelf marks in gilt to the feet of the spines, bookplates to the front pastedowns and ink stamps to the margins of each title page and at intervals in between. Some light rubbing to the spines, else very good. A monumental record of the population in England and Wales at this time. Beginning with the "Preliminary Report Including Tables of Population Enumerated in England and Wales... and in Scotland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands on 19/20th June, 1921", it also includes a table with populations of British Dominions in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the Indian Empire, South Africa and Canada. The remaining forty-eight volumes provide the break down county by county and are bound in alphabetical order: Bedford, Berkshire, Brecknock and Radnor, Buckingham, Cambridge including the Isle of Ely and Huntingdon, Cardigan, Carmarthen, Carnarvon & Anglesey, Chester, Cornwall, Cumberland & Westmorland, Denbigh, Derby, Devon, Dorset, Durham, Essex, Flint, Glamorgan, Gloucester, Isle of Wight, Hereford, Hertford, Kent, Lancaster, Leicester, Lincoln & Rutland, London - Text (1) and Tables (3), Middlesex, Merioneth & Montgomery, Monmouth, Norfolk, Northampton, Northumberland, Pembroke, Salop, Somerset, Stafford, Suffolk, Surrey, Sussex, Warwick, Wilts, Worcester and Yorkshire.
