Frontispieces and 18 plates. Some minor spotting, but a clean copy with the preliminaries and some other gatherings having been washed. Recent half calf, marbled sides, very good. A famous work by Charles Darwin's grandfather covering a wide range of scientific subjects and including lengthy appendices and notes on meteors, primary colours, frost, electricity, iron, coal, granite and winds amongst others.
