Contemporary blind stamped calf, a little worn, rebacked in sheep with brown and green morocco labels. An historian and statistician, MacGregor was strongly in favour of free trade and the repeal of the corn laws led him to abandon his post as Secretary to the Board of Trade and enter Parliament as member for Glasgow.
