Sense and Sensibility. A Novel. With seven illustrations by Harry Evans.

London: John Dicks, 313, Strand, [n.d.]. 8vo, 114, (4 advertisement) pp. Printed in double column, 6 full page illustrations, upper hinge slightly cracked but sound. Original wrappers with a further illustration by Evans to the upper wrapper, some marks and rubbing, small tear to the foot of the spine. Very scarce, OCLC noting only one undated copy, in the Bodleian Library. Not in Gilson. Dicks' "Library of Standard Works" appeared in the mid-1880s and included this work, but it was paginated differently and illustrated by a different artist. Although the Bodleian note that Dicks "was active from 313 The Strand between 1863 and 1878", this issue would seem to have more in common with his edition of Pride and Prejudice, of which OCLC lists 3 copies, dated either 1887 (University of Basel and Goucher College) or 1902 (British Library). Item #34268
