WE VALUE BOOKS

Fees will vary depending upon the purpose of the valuation and the amount of work required. If an owner is thinking of selling books, our opinion and offer to purchase would of course be cost free. If however the need is for a formal professional written valuation, which might be required for insurance purposes or probate, then fees would be based upon a daily rate for time spent regardless of the value of a collection.

Advice and work in this area has been appreciated by many private clients and also by institutions that include the Middle Temple Library and Brighton and Hove Rare Book Collection.

Additionally, charities or other "good causes" might like to note that Alan Shelley often provides advice about rare books free of charge. This has sometimes been as an informal consultant, as a speaker for Rotary or as a Valuer at imitations of the Antiques Roadshow.
